Sept. 2, 2008	No afternoon meeting.  Evening meeting Location: Luana Savings Bank, 7 p.m. POTLUCK: A-J will provide food.  Please bring your own tableware. Program:  Carol Nesbit of Waterloo, IA. will speak on her mission trips to some of the western European countries teaching quilting.  She pays for her own travel expenses and supplies.  Currently she has a shortage of rotary cutters so if anyone has one in good condition they would be willing to donate, she would greatly appreciate it.

Nov. 4, 2008	Location: Farmer's Merchant Bank, Waukon, 2 p.m. Program: Mary Kay Winkie will share ideas for placemats. Service Project: Members can make placemats for area Meals on Wheels	Location: Main Feature Pizza, Main Street, Waukon Program: We have reserved the theatre for the evening.  Quilt Show Awards will be given and there will be a showing of the quilt show video on the big screen.
Nov. 6-8, 2008 Retreat	Camp Winnebago (directions in newsletter), Eitzen, MN Thursday morning: Shattered Images by Joni Johnson Thursday afternoon: Charm Pack Bag Friday: Kay Capps Cross: "Honing Our Skills & Learning New Tricks" Saturday: Kay Capps Cross: "Who Said Foundation Piecing Wasn't Fun?" SUPPLY LIST for retreat will be available at the September meeting.
Dec. 2, 2008	Location: Lamont Savings Bank, 2 p.m. Program: Member sharing of Christmas items (quilts, table runners, tree skirts, stockings, etc.)	Location: Luana Savings Bank, 7 p.m. Program: Need something to put on your Christmas wish list?  Arlene Klatt will talk on the Electric Quilt program and show us the bells and whistles of the program.
Jan. 3, 2009 Workshop	Location: Luana Savings Bank, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sheryl Mielke will teach "Two of a Kind" from the April 2008 American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.

May 5, 2009	Location: Luana Savings Bank, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Program:  Stephanie Brandenburg, fabric designer and owner of Fern Hills Design, South Amana, IA. will talk about the process of designing fabric and give us a sneak peek of her newest collection.
